World-class water and snow ski manufacturer Dave Goode of Goode Ski Technologies knows exactly what the tournament water skier wants from a slalom ski. His ultralight and lightningquick skis have littered the podium at tournaments across the world for more than 15 years. Expect more of the same from the 9900SL. Out of the buoy, this ski has amazing acceleration. You can also push on it, if need be, and it is very symmetrical in the turns. “With its stock fin and binding settings, it's very solid and super fun to ride,” says Bruce Brown. The 9900SL responds well to skiers who have a more forward stance, as opposed to someone who is more of a tail rider. The ski will keep moving through the turn, you just want to make sure you are forward enough to stay with it.
Keys to the 9900SL:
• Forward stance/hip movements will help you stay with the ski through the turn
• Trust the ski; it will go, but you need to have your body in the right place to handle it
• In a rush, the ski responds well to aggressive skiing
• You can make mistakes and still run buoys
